ISTAT Foundation Announces Leadership Change
The International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading Foundation (ISTAT Foundation) is delighted to announce the appointment of Janet Huynh as the new executive director, succeeding Megan King, effective 5 March 2024.
Throughout her ten-year tenure, including four years as executive director, King played a crucial role in guiding the ISTAT Foundation through the difficulties presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Under her leadership, the ISTAT Foundation expanded its outreach initiatives, extending its programming to reach organizations and students worldwide.
"I am immensely proud of the strides we've made at the ISTAT Foundation over the past decade, with the support of many industry leaders who have championed our cause with true passion and commitment," said King, outgoing executive director. "It has been an honor to work alongside dedicated colleagues and partners in advancing initiatives that have spearheaded education and charitable giving within the aviation community and driven the Foundation’s mission forward.”
Reflecting on her tenure as executive director, King noted, “I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to partake in guiding the organization's growth, both operationally and strategically. Together, we've strengthened the impact and positioning of the Foundation, paving the way for its sustained success in the years to come. I'm confident in Janet's ability to uphold the momentum of our progress, while leading the Foundation in evolving its meaningful impact in a multitude of important areas well into the future.”
Huynh, based in Washington D.C., has nearly 12 years of leadership experience in association management, focusing on strategic planning, program development, relationship management, financial management and operational excellence. Currently, Huynh also serves as the membership and operations director for the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council (WERC), where she works on globalization, aiming to become the primary resource for individuals and organizations involved with global workforce mobility issues in all regions of the world.
Prior to joining WERC, Huynh served as the director of business development and strategic initiatives for the Bank Insurance and Securities Association, collaborating with c-suite members who manage programs in the country with a total company asset size of over $50 billion. She joins the ISTAT Foundation during its 30th-anniversary celebrations and looks forward to contributing to expanding and elevating the future of the Foundation.
Additionally, Huynh serves as Smithbucklin’s InCouncil member to support strategic DEI initiatives aimed at attracting diverse talent, fostering an inclusive workplace, and sharing best practices for client organizations. Huynh’s passion is to share her knowledge to help mentor and shape the future leaders of the next generation by creating a diverse and inclusive workforce."
“Embracing this pivotal role as executive director, I am honored to embark on a journey of innovation and collaboration. Together, we will champion our mission, inspire excellence, and shape a future where every endeavor reflects our commitment to transformative change.
It is both a privilege and an honor to step into the role of ISTAT Foundation Executive Director. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the ISTAT Foundation Board of Trustees for entrusting me with the opportunity to lead this extraordinary organization.
For three decades, the ISTAT Foundation has been a stalwart contributor to the positive growth and development of the aviation industry, having invested $13,700,000 in individuals and institutions worldwide, all made possible through the remarkable generosity and support of our donors.
Today, the ISTAT Foundation stands as a beacon of strength, agility, and innovation—a steadfast advocate that has empowered over 1,000 aviation-passionate students and provided assistance to more than 100 nonprofit organizations globally with an aviation focus.
With our robust foundation and unwavering commitment to our mission, the ISTAT Foundation is poised for continued success. I am fully dedicated to driving forward our strategic initiatives, ensuring they remain aligned with our mission and purpose."
